I am a demoscener. That is, people like me makes demos, and music, and nice computer graphics, and put all together (I have no time nor space to define it here). I consider demos to be an art. Some people in DA have uploaded their own Flash-made demos (check
About the music issue, well, I could not see any rule disclaiming that you cannot embed music in a Flash movie. Of course, there are more or less stylish ways to do it. Put a graphic EQ, some simple, dynamic effect on it (the latest Actionscript versions allow you to do some interesting tricks with FFT) or a boring scroller. It's up to you! The same applies to video. Adobe Flash can import a video and transform it to Flash. Problem solved. Upload and share.
It is not that I am claiming a statement to make DA look like damn Last.fm or blasted YouTube. It is just wondering how "traditional art" is catalogued in deviantART, and why can we upload text and images (for those of you not informed yet, deviantART is not your own Flickr account, go post your party pics there) and even Flash but not music, nor (quality) short films.
Comments welcome.
